I started in the Optical Industry in 1996 as an Optometrist Assistant and a Lab Technician. Working in the lab helped familiarize myself with the many different lenses that are in the industry. In 2005 I decided I wanted to further my career and take the Optical Science Program to become an Optician.
I was licensed in 2007 and required to maintain and demonstrate knowledge and skill in the field every year, either at live events or through networking.
I enjoy nothing more than finding the perfect pair of glasses that fit you best with the perfect lenses that suit your needs which is why i decided to open my own Optical in November 2019.
I have lived in the Bridgewater surrounding area my whole life, love to be with my family and hang out with my two Border Collies and absolutely love to travel!
I currently reside in Conquerall Bank with my husband (Jason) and son (Ethan), please feel free to come by my store and share a few stories.

Sophie Langille joined the team in 2022!
Sophie grew up in Bridgewater and graduated from PVEC before earning her diploma as a Canadian Optometric Assistant. Whether she's pre-testing patients before their eye exams or helping them find the perfect pair of glasses, Sophie's goal is to make every visit smooth and comfortable. She loves being part of helping people see-and look-their best!

Jodi Oickle joined the team in 2025!
With over two decades of experience in the optical industry, Jodi Oickle is a dedicated and knowledgeable optician committed to helping clients see and feel their best. Known for her attention to detail, personalized care, and passion for eye health, Jodi has built a reputation for delivering expert service with a warm, approachable touch. Whether you're selecting new eyewear, updating your perscription, or just seeking advice, Jodi brings a wealth of experience and a genuine commitment to ensuring each client leaves feeling confident and well cared for.
When she's not working, Jodi loves spending time in the Southwest Port Mouton, relaxing on the beach and enjoying the natural beauty of Nova Scotia's South Shore. Based in Bridgewater, she's passionate about the outdoors, traveling, and making memories with her family.

Allison Cahoon joined the team in 2025!
With almost 20 years of experience in the optical industry, Allison Cahoon is a highly skilled Licensed Optician who takes pride in providing exceptional care and expertise to every client she works with. Her passion lies in helping people see-and feel-their best by finding eyewear that fits their unique vision needs, lifestyle, and personality. Whether it's guiding someone through their first pair of glasses or customizing advanced lens solutions, Allison brings professionalism, precision, and a genuine commitment to quality service. When she's not in the office, Allison spends time with her husband and three kids. You'll often find her in the rink, at a baseball field, or in a gym watching her kids play hockey, baseball, or volleyball.

Madison Maynard joined the team in 2023!
Madison grew up in Bridgewater and after graduating at PVEC, she travelled to Australia for a year before coming back to her home town. Madison is currently taking the Canadian Optometric Assistant course, developing a strong foundation in eyecare, pre-testing, optical technology, and helping provide excellent patient care. Madison is often the first friendly face you'll see when you walk in, running the front seamlessly up front as she greets patients, schedules appointments, and keeps the front buzzing with high energy.
Lab/Inventory Manager
Ethan Russell joined the team in 2020!
Ethan is currently exploring a future in the optical industry while helping manage his family's optical business. He keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes-managing inventory, overseeing every frame order, and ensuring every pair of glasses meets quality standards before reaching customers. With a sharp eye for detail and a growing passion for eye care, Ethan is preparing to take the OAC Optical Science program in January, with the goal of becoming a licensed optician in the near future.

Nancy Lee Strowbridge joined the team in 2022!
Nancy Lee is a licensed Optician and has worked in the industry for over 30 years! After those long years, she has decided to retire to enjoy life away from the optical scene. Despite her retirement, Nancy Lee helps out time to time if we need the extra help around the store. She was a great asset to the CR Optican team as she loved working with friends and helping her clients, and her hard work and dedication will not be forgotten.

Brianna Samson
Optometrist (Bridgewater Optometry)
Dr. Samson is native to a small town in Southern Ontario but fell in love with the East Coast when attending St. Francis Xavier University for Human Kinetics with a minor in Health Science. She went across the pond to Cardiff University for her Optometry degree (Cardiff, Wales, 2015) and worked in several practices in Southern Wales during her time training. Once back, she completed her Masters in Vision Science at the University of Waterloo (Waterloo, On, 2021). She is excited to be back on the East Coast where she can enjoy ocean side hikes and canoes on the lakes with her husband and dog.
